It's a Girl Bunny Pocket Card

Easter themed craft products are so cute! I'm not quite ready to retire my darling little bunny set from Fun Stampers Journey until next year.   For today's project I incorporated the little bunny and other stamps onto a pocket card congratulating the arrival of a little baby girl.  Alexandra (my youngest) is still very attached to her lamb, bunny and other critters that she received when she was just an infant - you can see my inspiration for this card was directly inspired by her Ellie from Humphrey's Corner...

{Stamped image without a Solid Dark Border}

I stamped the bunny image using River Stone ink - it was quite dark at first so here's a tip.  If you don't want a very dark solid line around your stamped image, stamp the image on a rough piece of paper first then without reapplying ink stamp it onto your cardstock.   I used Copic markers and Spectrum Noir colored pencils to color my bunny image.  I wanted the card to have a soft, sketchy look so I worked with very light pinks and grays.

Once stamped and colored I used my Journey Circle dies to cut the image - that created that darling little perforated edge :)

Creating the balloons was super easy - That stamp set came with my Fun Stampers Journey Coach Kit.  It is called Birthday Sketch.  First partially stamp the ballon strings next to the bunny and then on a separate piece of cardstock stamp the balloons (don't forget to stamp on a rough piece of paper before you stamp on your cardstock if you don't want that dark solid line).  Fussy cut the balloons and adhere in place.

 I created the pocket card from a gorgeous die from Fun stampers Journey called Tagged Pocket Card and simply assembled all using a variety of products listed below.

In this picture you can see the shiny balloons, bunny nose and pads on her feet. I used Journey Glaze for that.  Here is a list of all the projects I used.  If you are interested in purchasing any of these products please visit my Fun Stampers Journey page and click on Catalog.

Fun Stampers Journey 3D Butterfly Treat Box

It's small enough to make on your die-cut machine but it's big enough to fill with whatever!  That's what I love about the Fun Stampers Journey Treat Box!  I needed a smallish box to fill with speciality candy for a friend that needed nothing more than me thinking of her.  The striped paper is also Fun Stampers Journey (LOVE) but it needed a little something-something...hence the 3D stamped
butterfly :)

Following is a list of supplies that I used to complete my project.  If you like a particular product and would like to order it simply click on the link below to be directed to my Fun Stampers Journey page and click on Catalog!

Vintage Chalkboard Frame

I love Thrift Shopping for treasures.  Granted I have not found any hidden gems worth thousands of dollars but every now again I do find something special for me to add a little paint, a touch of craftiness and a dab of creativity to make it my own.  I picked up this gold-leaf vintagy frame at a thrift store for next to nothing and set out to transform it into something quite special...

I had two porcelain ornaments on hand which were perfect for the project I had in mind.  I wanted to incorporate a branch from my garden for my birds to rest on and I wanted to have my frame a ocean blue.  When I discovered Plaid's FolkArt Chalk Paint and Wax I knew I had hit my jackpot.

1. The vintage frames were sold as a set and although I liked the gold leaf I LOVED the detail on the frame more so I was ready to start the transformation.
2.  After removing the glass, image and backing to the frame I painted the frame with FolkArt Chalk paint (good news that no sanding, stripping or prep required!)
3. Once the base layer had dried I applied the FolkArt Clear Wax to the frame.
4.  Now it was time to apply the White Wax.  After I painted the White Wax on the frame I immediately wiped off the excess leaving wax in the recesses of the frame.
5.  Letting my frame dry, I set to work painting the backboard of the frame with black Martha Stewart  Chalkboard paint.
6.  Since it is winter in Colorado there is no shortage of dry twigs.  I painted one with white acrylic paint and adhered it and my porcelain birds to the backboard (I used superglue and it worked really well)
7.  Last step was to write something sweet with a chalkboard marker :)

This is a fun way to really express your creativity and explore ways to make fun pieces of art from items that need a little TLC.  It's really easy - I promise you!  Give it a try and let me know how you did.

Pretty Vintage Style Easter Card

Denver is going through unseasonably warm weather for early February.  We are reaching record high temperatures which makes it feel like spring is on it's way already.  Craft stores are decked out in beautiful pastel shades and that is my inspiration for this card.

I was browsing through a Pier 1 Imports catalog when I found this beautiful image of a bunny pillow.  It reminded me of a darling little stamp set I have from Fun Stampers Journey.

With Heartfelt Sympathy

This past weekend my dear neighbor passed away.  I wanted to create a card for her family letting them know how sorry I was for their loss.  Sometimes words fail us during these times of grief but I found this sentiment from Fun Stampers Journey so fitting for our friends.

I created this card using stamps, ink, cardstock and embellishments from Fun Stampers Journey.  Simply click on the link below and select catalog to browse through an amazing assortment of beautiful products.  If you have any questions please email me at: nunutoolies@gmail.com

The sentiment is so touching and conveys my sympathy to our friends.   I stamped the first line of the sentiment on the cover and the rest on the inside of the card.

So Sorry for Your Loss,
may God grant you and yours the strength
to remember the good and and the opportunity to
celebrate the moments shared...

Inspired by the Beach

I loved our little vacation at the beach.  We had a wonderful time swimming, snorkeling and sunning ourselves while reading on the beach.  Our family returned relaxed and energized ready for a brand new year!  I was so inspired by the colors and textures of the ocean that I designed this Thank You card using products from Fun Stampers Journey.

I created this card using stamps, ink, cardstock and embellishments from Fun Stampers Journey.  Simply click on the link below and select catalog to browse through an amazing assortment of beautiful products.  If you have any questions please email me at: nunutoolies@gmail.com

The stamp set is called: Sea Side Treasures (SS-0071) and consists of 8 stamps.  I used the Starfish, Thank You sentiment stamp and background script which tells the most beautiful story:

Once upon a time there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean
to do his writing.  He had habit of walking on the beach before he
began his work.  One day he was walking along the shore as he
looked down the beach, he saw a human figure moving like a dancer.
He smiled to himself to think of someone who would dance to the
day.  So he began to walk faster to catch up.  As he got closer, he saw
that it was a young man and the young man wasn't dancing, but
instead he was reaching down to the shore, picking up something
and very gently throwing it in the ocean.  As he got closer he called
out, "Good Morning! What are you doing?" The young man paused,
looked up and replied, "throwing star fish in the ocean." " I guess I
should have asked, why are you throwing Star Fish in the ocean?"
"The sun is up and the tide is going out.  And if I don't throw them in they'll
die."  "But, young man, don't you realize that there are miles and miles
of beach and starfish all along it.  You can't possible make a
 difference!"  The young man listened politely.  Then bent down,
picked up another starfish and threw it into the sea, passed the
breaking waves and said
"It made a difference to that one"

Tag Happy

Christmas is just around the corner and just like many of you I am a busy mama!  I love making handmade decorations, giving beautiful cards and baking during this time of year so I thought I would get a head start by making quick and easy tags ready to adorn festive treats.

I put these together using fun Christmas and Holiday themed stamps and products from

{Let it Snow Christmas Tree Tag}

I made a stencil tag shape from regular cardstock and used it to trace and cut all my tags.  Once that was done the assembly line was ready for production!

1. Stamp tree image with Green Olive ink
2. Stamp sentiment with Cranberry Bliss ink
3. Dot Journey Glaze for snow flakes and add to snow on the tree.
4.  Sprinkle Journey Sparkle Dust over Journey Glaze and allow to dry.
5.  Finishing by adhering red bling for ornaments

{Let it Snow Christmas Tree Tag}

Cardstock: Whip Cream (CS-0040)
Stamp Set: Winter Wonderland (SS-0093),
Ink: Green Olive (IP-0072), Cranberry Bliss (IP-0049)
Accessories: Journey Glaze (AD-002), Journey Sparkle Dust (AC-0013)

Other: Adhesive red gems
{Snowman Tag}

For this tag I used Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Eight die template for the base.  I made 15 of these and cut the all the base tags out first so that stamping would be quick and easy.

1. Stamp snowflake background onto the tags using Linked Dots background stamp with Whip Cream ink.
2. Stamp Snowman onto Whip Cream cardstock, color with markers and fussy cut.
3.  Apply Journey glaze to the side of the snowman and sprinkle with Journey Sparkle Dust
4. Adhere snowman to tag with foam squares.

{Snowman Tag}

Cardstock: Whip Cream (CS-0040), Oatmeal Cookie (CS-0023)
Stamp Set: Linked Dots (SS-0051), Frosty Fun (AT-0106)
Ink: Whip Cream (IP-0009)
Accessories: Journey Glaze (AD-002), Journey Sparkle Dust (AC-0013)

Other: Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Eight, Copic Markers

{Let it Snow Mini Tag}

These are so cute and so easy.  I thought they would make great little tags for homemade goodies, placement cards, even little drinkie-poo name tags ;)

1. Cut rectangular strips from cardstock and fold in half to form mini tag.
2. Stamp sentiment and snowflake images with Whip Cream ink.
3. Adhere mini gems to center of snowflakes
4. Run the edges of the tag sides with Whip Cream ink

{Let it Snow Mini Tag}

Cardstock: Whip Cream (CS-0040)
Stamp Set: Snow Burst (SS-0144)
Ink: Whip Cream (IP-0009)

Other: Mini adhesive gems

{Merry & Bright Ornament Tag}

The base of this tag is another Spellbinders die called Labels Twenty-Nine.  After cutting all the tags with my Journey Grand machine I was able to do some quick stamping.

1. Stamp ornament onto Whip Cream cardstock with Cranberry Bliss Ink
2. Stamp sentiment alongside ornament with Lemon Grass Ink
3.  Apply Journey Glaze dots to some of the ornaments - allow to dry
4. Finishing by adding a bright green button to the top of the tag

{Merry & Bright Ornament Tag}

Cardstock: Whip Cream (CS-0040)
Stamp Set: Merry Bright (AT-0022),
Ink: Cranberry Bliss (IP-0049), Lemon Grass (IP-0022)
Accessories: Journey Glaze (AD-002)

Other: Button

Whew.  I think this is a great headstart :) Please stop by soon again because I will be adding to this collection of quick and easy tags for the Holidays as well as throwing in a mix of quick and easy cards too!

Falling for Fall

Oh my goodness I just love, love, love this time of year.   Fall is by far my most favorite season.  The colors, the temperatures and of course the baking!   It's time to bring out the boots, warmer coats and enjoy the crisper temperatures.  It is these wonderful inspirations that make me happy to craft all day if I could!

You all know how much I love my goodie bags.  It's just as easy as making a card but of course there is room inside for a little gift.    When we are invited over to friends for dinner I love taking over a little hostess gift in a specially decorated bag.  There are 2 stamp sets that I used from JustRite Papercrafts October Release:

I purchase the brown craft bags at Bigbox craft stores or even at the Dollar store.  They usually come 5 in a pack and I simply stock up.  I colored the leaves in using Spectrum Noir markers and added detail with Spectrum Noir pencils

Design Team Inspiration

 Here is a little Colorado Fall inspiration for you all.  This picture was taken yesterday morning on my morning walk

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you have the opportunity to get creative as the weather in your neck of the woods changes too.

Too Cute to Spook Halloween Cupcake Toppers and Wrappers

It's almost that time of year when our neighborhood is filled with little "creatures" scurrying around at dusk to earn some treats.  We love celebrating Halloween - so much so that our girls have been planning their costumes since August.  We finally committed to the final one last week - which leaves me some time for the party planning preparations!

I created these spooky cute cupcake toppers using Fun Stampers Journey Stamps and Papers:

Trick or Treat Stamp Set (SS-0084)
Journey Circles Dies (DI-0039)
Zombie Nights Cardstock (PP-0006)
Journey Glaze (AD-0002)

{Shop Fun Stampers Journey: Catalog}

Other Supplies:

Spectrum Noir Markers and Pencils
Cupcake base template downloaded from the internet
Cupcakes (yup these are store bought)

I stamped my images twice onto white cardstock.  I cut the first image out using a pierced circle from the Journey Circle Dies. The second image I fussy cut and adhered it over the first image with a small adhesive foam square.  I stamped the sentiments onto white cardstock and colored them with markers.  After cutting them into little banner shapes I attached toothpicks to both the sentiment banner and the cupcake topper.  To make the Cupcake wrapper template I downloaded and printed a template from the internet.  I cut out the shape and traced it onto my paper.  After cutting it out I simply wrapped it around the cupcake base and secured it at the back with tape.

I have more up my sleeve (bwhaaahaha) for Halloween so don't forget to follow me here or on Pinterest.
