My Dad celebrates his Birthday in January but when you live so far away we need to get any cards and packages out early :) I made this one with him in mind for Regina's BBTB challenge. Not only do I love him dearly but he is such a Superstar in my eyes :). You can see the other Designers take of the Gift Cut from the New Arrival cartridge at: Bitten by the Bug
Hope you are having the best Holiday Week

Mele Kalikimaka is a Christmas song sung as a warm greeting from Hawaii. The song takes its title from the phrase of "Mele Kalikimaka," the Hawaiianized pronunciation of "Merry Christmas".The reason I am wishing you all a Merry Christmas in Hawaiian is because that is where we are right now. We are on Waikiki Beach for the first week and then we head over to the Big Island of Hawaii to spend Christmas with Grandpa & Grandma. I am sure many you of remember the great excitement when I won this trip to Hawaii on The Ellen Show! I can't believe it was just a few short months ago on that crazy day in February when I was bouncing on stage next to Ellen and then after all the excitement she announced I had won a trip to Hawaii - whooo hoo - A week all inclusive including airfare at the Waikiki Parc Hotel! It was one of the most amazing experiences to be on the Show and to win such a fab prize. Ellen if you are reading this ;) - you rock! Well folks I hope that your Christmas is just as fabulous! No matter where you are celebrating, I would like to wish you all a wonderful Merry Christmas and and the most amazing New Year ever! Aloha Kazan

We finally leave for our long awaited trip to Hawaii. By dinner time tonight we will be settling into our hotel ready to begin two weeks of adventure and relaxation. Our first week we will spend at Waikiki Beach and then the second week we head on over to the Big Island to spend Christmas with Grandpa and Grandma. I am hoping to get a little blogging done while I am there - just wondering how great the Wifi is on the beach - will let you know ;)
These are a few of the many Christmas cards I made - and that is about the extend of my decorating this year. Our tree is up but it is the little tree in paradise at Grandma & Grandpa that will get to see all the action this year. Here's wishing you all a calm week before Christmas.

Om-goodness I cannot believe Denver has reached a record low for the coldest temperatures in over a hundred years. It is really cold outside - brrr - with windchill factors dropping the thermometor down to -35'f. The girls and I are staying indoors today - Mommy is calling a Snow Day!
This week at BBTB the designers worked with Spot from the Paper Pups cartridge. He is soooo cute! You can see the rest of the teams work here: Bitten by the Bug
I am wishing you all a warm fuzzy Monday :)

This week is rushing by and I feel like I still have a ton to do before next week even thinks about showing up. I did get some things checked off my list today including getting our sitter finalized so that we can attend the grand end of the year Holiday Celebration at Kev's work. An evening to dress-up, dance and enjoy good company. Should be a lot of fun! Next week is going to be crazier than ever as we get ready for our trip to Hawaii on Wednesday...so much to do and almost no time to do it :) - as if the Holidays were not crazy enough! I am sure I am not the only one feeling the pressure to get everything just right but I honestly hope you are not feeling quite as tizzy as me :) Although it does feel good to know I am not alone out there...

One of the nicest things about living in Colorado is the Mountains. The girls and I took a quick trip up to Vail and Beaver Creek to spend a couple of days with our good friends, the Johnsons. We had a ball visiting, playing, skating and sledding. The weather was great and the company perfect.
This week over at BBTB we had to use the cricut cut Birthday Girl. I disgarded the girl word and kept Birthday to make a Birthday Wishes card. The other DT members all have very different interpretations of the same cut so be sure to check them out too: Bitten by the Bug
Things are pretty much back to normal here for the rest of the week :) Hope your week is going well too.

This week at 2 Sketches 4 You the Design Team all worked with the wonderful versatile scoring tool called: Scor-it. They come in two sizes and the Scor-it Mini is perfect for card makers because it makes scoring and folding cards and smaller projects quick, easy and very portable! You can see the projects of the Design Team on 2S4Y and follow their tutorials through links to their blogs. To learn more about the Scor-it visit their Blog: Scorit.com.
Surprise Treat Holder
Project is made for a 1.45oz Herchey's Candy Bar 1. Cut your paper to size 6"x6" 2. Score lines at 1/2" and 31/4"
6. Take your ribbon and double it so that the lengths are a little longer than the length of your holder
8. Push your candy bar into the holder forcing the ribbon down all the way to the bottom 9. Tie a knot or bow at the top when you are done 10. When you pull the bow or knot the Candy bar will slide out along with it :)
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy making this project too and get to share these special handmade gifts with those you care about most.

I am so excited to reveal that I was selected to be one of two Card Designers for the really gorgeous Australian Scrapbook site called: Embellished Scrapbook Shoppe. They have a very talented group of artists on their team and I think my creative juices are going to be heading into overdrive with all the inspiration from them. Thanks a bunch ladies for picking me - this is going to be a fun ride :)

*I was excited to see that this project made it as one of CK Media's Online Gallery Featured Projects today - Yay!*Over at Bitten by the Bug the design team worked with the awesome little Tree Box from the Cricut Cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes & More. I wanted to make mine non-seasonal so I chose to make a Mothers Day keepsake box instead. All the other Designers did a fabulous job in this cut which you can see here: BBTB
Happy Tuesday Hugs Kazan

I can't believe that just last week I was wondering where the snow is and now we have it and a lot of it too. It is beautiful but when the whole family is feeling under the weather like we are it is not fun to go outside. Thank goodness the fridge and pantry is stocked so that leaves me with little else to worry about which means I had a whole weekend of craftyness to play with a new banner and create this spring/summer tag for fun. Hope your Sunday is just marvelous Hugs Kazan

for Thanksgiving. This year we are celebrating quietly - just the four of us (something we sometimes have to accept when our Families live so far away). As the girls get older we are starting our own family traditions and this particular Holiday is no exception. Kev and I both spend the day cooking and preparing - our joint effort results in a super yummy meal and embellished stories about each ones accomplishments (or lack there of) carried over well into the new year. I am sure this year will not disappoint...
This is my project for Bitten By the Bug. I made a place card holder to resemble a pumpkin with a little silhouette of a Turkey on top. The turkey cut is from the Cricut cartridge Stretch your Imagination.Have a great Thursday

This is the final card I made from Embellished Scrapbook Shoppe's Card kit. I also used a frosted card from Sheetloads/Shortcuts. Today we have so much to do and I am not quite sure where to start. I think the grocery store will be my first stop to stock up on the week's supplies. I am also feeling the need to get some Christmas Shopping done because we leave for vacation on December 17 so technically I have about 3 weeks...eeaaak! I really want to do something crafty today so maybe I will start on the Teacher gifts and in doing so I can check 2 items off my list. Is anyone else feeling the crunch right about now or are you all super prepared already? Let me know.
Have a great Monday Hugs Kazan

I was so excited to see the December issue of Cards Magazine on the shelves at Archivers. I have one of my Christmas Cards in this issue. Laura and I poured over page after page as we marveled at all the beautiful works in this issue. You will see two of Laura's cards in this issue too and a lot of other well known names in the industry...yay!

The super cute Rae Barthel Tagged me and since I have not done this for a while I thought I would play along so here it goes, you guys get to read 7 random/weird facts about me:
1. I have a memory like an elephant (I took this picture at the Denver Zoo on Friday). My friends and family cannot believe how I can retain random information for decades!*
2. Jeans are my clothing of choice. I can't remember when last I wore a skirt or dress
3. My watches have always been chunky. I can't see myself with a dainty one. Right now I wear this one - I bought it for the pink acrylic strap. It is by Fossil.*
4. I hang all our clothes in our closets according to color. Starting with whites, pinks, greens, blues all the way to black. It drives me crazy when Kev puts Laundry away because he does not follow the system :)
5. I looove baking. Two of may favorite things to bake are Molten Chocolate Cakes and Brownies but I don't really have a sweet tooth - give me salty savory any day :)*
6. I am super competitive and will turn anything into a game just for the fun of it. *
7. My sense of humor can be wicked too. I love playing practical jokes on my friends and family. Silly little unsuspecting things in conversations are some of the funniest moments for me..
There you have it. Now if there is someone you would like me to tag leave me a comment here. I would love to see who you would like to know more about. Have a great weekend Hugs Kazan

* I woke up this morning to find that this card is being featured on the Creating Keepsake Website. How cool is that! Toot*So much excitement in one day. I managed to make a card, but can only share later, do some housework and do a ton of blog-surfing. Always fun to catch up with friends across the globe in Blogland. Tomorrow I may take a trip to the zoo but it is supposed to be really chilly. Kev thinks it is perfect zoo weather for the girls and I but then again he is from Canada and 40'f is a nice crisp day to him! We will see...
.See you all tomorrow Enjoy the rest of your evening Take care Kazan
I have been a long time admirer of this blog and the gorgeous artists they feature on it and now it is my turn. Whoo Hoo I am being featured on Inspirational. Wow. Thanks for picking my blog Julie. It makes me feel so great that others get as much inspiration from my work as I get from theirs. Hugs Kazan

Here is another project I made with the Embellished Scrapbook Card Kit. The ready to assemble gift card holder comes from SheetLoads/Shortcuts. I loooove their products! We had an amazing day for Ashton and Mommy Day. Ashton is doing awesome at swimming, we visited a potential school for next year and she got to meet some of the teachers (everyone received a hug so I guess they passed her preliminary test!) and we had a fab lunch at Cafe Terracotta (Laura's recommendation) where I had the grilled Portebello Sandwich and Ashton had a yummy grilled cheese. We will leave room for the delicious looking strawberry cake next time.
.Hope your day was just as funtabulous :) Hugs Kazan

My new thing seems to be tags - I have made them before but right now it seems all I want to make are tags! I was fortunate enough to work with a card kit from Embellished Scrapbook Shoppe. I made a few cards and tags, tags tags out of their adorable little kit - I will post the cards later on in the week but for now you all get to see are more tags! Hugs Kazan

The weather is so warm in Denver this week that it is hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner. We have seen one day of snow and tomorrow we are supposed to set a record high of almost 80' WOW! I guess the cooler weather will come until then we are going to get in as much outside playtime as possible. I made this very Wintery card for Regina's Bitten By the Bug Challenge. We had to use the Tree cut from the cartridge Stretch your Imagination. You can see what cute ideas the other designers came up with here: Bitten by the Bug.
.Have a great Monday Hugs Kazan

I know I have not posted in a while and I apologize for that :) I have been creative though, just not anything I can share at this time *wink* however, today's card is my take on my latest sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. It is quite a chilly morning here in Colorado but that means I can get super busy and do some chores! Hope your Monday is a little more eventful but no matter what you do I hope it is a good one.Hugs Kazan
November 5, 2008
It seems that we prepare weeks in advance for this eventful night decorating, carving and finding that perfect costume and then within a few hours it is all done except for the Halloween Candy. We have bags and bags full of it and I need to do something quickly before I go crazy on the stuff. The funny thing is I don't even have a sweet tooth but I just can't seem to resist having one piece here and two pieces there. I wish there was some giant recipe that called for melting all the Halloween Candy to make one big pudding...that way I could throw a little shindig with the most awesome desert after and be done with it! Until then though I guess we are minimizing the stash one piece (or two) at a time.
.Sherry posted the cutest picture of her son dressed up for Halloween on her blog and asked us to do the same...sooo here is Ashton as a Princess Witch (don't ask it was her idea) and Alex as a Lambie (Dylan is the cute Fireman in between).
Have a great Thursday - the weekend is almost here again HugsKazan

Thank you so much for all the wonderful b/day wishes I received all day yesterday. I had a wonderful day with my family and was thoroughly spoiled all day and evening including this beautiful bouquet of white stemmed roses taken with my new camera *wink*...the messages, good wishes and emails are very all appreciated! You guys know how to make a person feel special on their b.day - thank you so much!
