I am so excited to be one of two winners on Regina's BBTB blog. She held a challenge for people to design a shaped card using any Cricut/Expression Cartridge. My little Snowlady took first place. Whooo Hoooo. I won a Cricut Store Front Cartridge from Hallmark Scrapbooks. Card for my Mama

My Mom celebrated her birthday on the 19th of January. This card was made for her. I wanted her to celebrate with us, even though she lives in South Africa and we could not be there. I took the picture of the flowers myself - a bouquet for her on her special day. Love you so much Mom.Pin It

Awesome Job Card

Tuesdays are typically crazy for me but Alex does not have "school" today so we can have some one on one play time. That also takes away some of the hectic commute time - whew - today for the first Tuesday in a long time I am enjoying my coffee in a regular mug (not a travel mug). I made this card for a recent call (not selected). The criteria was to use orange, green and brown. Quite a challenge but the paper I used - Urban Lily (Urban Gypsy Collection)and Reminisce (Autumn Plaid)was perfect for the task. Hope your Tuesday has slowed down a tad too.Pin It

44 & 4 on the same Weekend

We managed to celebrate two "boy" b/days this weekend. The first was our friend Christo who turns 44 on Monday and the second b/day we celebrated today: Alan turned a big 4 years old! Congrats to both our buddies. I made these cards up in a flash because quite honestly I have spent the majority of my free time reading blogs. I did watch the Miss America and loved their new format. Super relaxed and fun - just a tad disappointed that the two girls I thought would have the best shot at winning did not make it: Miss Indiana placed 2nd and Miss California placed in the top 8. Regardless of the results everyone looked like they had a lot of fun and the new updated show was definitely more fun to watch.Pin It

What's with the name?

I thought long and hard about what to call my blog. I thought of scrap related names, artistic names and funny fruit/animal/nature names and finally decided on Nunu Toolies! The title holds special meaning to our little family. Nunu is the nickname we gave both our girls when they were tiny babies. We referred to them as Nunu before we had even picked their names out. They still respond to Nunu...and lovey and sweetpea and peanut.. Toolies is the name my husband and I called each other when we were first married. It is a made-up name that just stuck with the two of us. It is a term of endearment that no one else uses. A special name for just the two of us. The name still surfaces every now and then..can't believe it's been 10 years!Pin It

Today I became a blogger

I have read blogs, laughed at them, been inspired by them and even on occasion wished I had never seen some of them, but I have never been a blogger - until now. I don't particularly feel a need to express myself (my friends and family will totally disagree) however most of the blogs I have visited are so inspirational, that I figured it was time I got one too. I love to read blogs of scrapbookers and cardmakers and the stories and faces behind the beautiful artworks are always interesting. So here I am, at my desk with a to-do list so long that I am feeling a slight pang of guilt - ok it gone now - hoping to join the list of inspirational bloggers. Now that I have put myself out there I hope to live up to any expectations and to provide light easy reading that so many of you have provided to me, so please check back often and feel free to leave me any comments.
