A Birthday Card for Someone Sweet

I made this card based off CPS sketch #57. I can't reveal who the recipient of the card is because it is a surprise - she only gets to see them on Thursday. Hopefully the "N" on the flower does not give it away too much.... Update: I can finally reveal that I made this card for Nancy!!! Oh My Gosh I feel quite faint actually..

Here is a layout that I created for Scrap 4 Life's Design Team Challenge. The remaining participants had to create a layout using HANDMADE embellies...talk about a challenge! I created the flowers out of cardstock and used markers to make an "African" design on each. Then I made buttons out of clay and painted them. I wanted the buttons to have a rustic African Bead look. So here is the GOOD news. This layout has qualified me to the next and final round. It started out with about 50 participants and now it is narrowed down to 10. You can see all the designs at Scrap 4 Life and then check out their gallery under Design Team Challenge. I am sitting here at my desk a little in awe of what just happened. The level of competition is very high, and the people creating these beautiful pages are so nice. I am so proud to be among the top 10 but this next week is going to be the hardest. We can't post our work and we have a whole bunch of guidelines to follow. Thank you to all those that post their work daily and comment on my blog - not only do you provide me with inspiration but because of your support and wonderful comments I am able to really have fun with challenges like this...ok now go and make something magnificent and wish me luck!!!!Pin It

Tooty Toot Toot!

It is official I am now on a brand spanking new Design Team. Whooo Hoooo. I was picked to be one of 14 designers on the new revamped My Sketch World Blog and we are starting with sketches in April. There are some really super talented designers, both card and layout so I am so excited to be part of this team and new venture. I will be posting one card a month (rotating with seven other girls)...how fun is this. I cannot wait to see the new sketches and get some creative juices flowing...oh my now to settle down and get some other work taken care of...boy this stuff is addictive!!!!Pin It

Mommy wants more Smiles please (layout)

The heat is on over at the Scrap 4 Life Design Team Competition.... So I made it through round 2 with this layout of Ashton. I had been taking pictures of her and Alex all morning and finally she was done. No matter what I did/said this was the look I got...We had to use any clear element on the layout - I chose to use Heidi Swap clear letters for the title and Rain Dots to accent it and the petals of the prima. We are now onto round 3 of the competition and everyone has stepped it up for sure. There are very talented people trying out and it shows in their work. This weeks challenge is to make your own embellies and to scrap 4-5 pictures (using both color and B&W)...I am working on it as we speak and will post it next week for sure..but in the mean time go and check out the superb work on the Design Team Contest Gallery...oh yes and wish me luck :)Pin It

I discovered a FAB new site called Scrap 4 Life and they are hosting a super fun Design Team Competition. It started off two weeks ago with everyone signing up. Then we got our first assignment: Create a layout using bling and glitter. This was my entry which was good enough to get me to the next round. Talk about exciting. Mondays Jodie announces who goes through and what the next challenge is. I love this type of competition because it gets me to be super creative every week and use up supplies (or get new ones) AND we are also getting to meet other super talented potential designers. Just yesterday I received my Blog Candy from Jenna (Altered Obsession). She made me the cutest Birdhouse using paper and colors from Doodlebug Designs (that was my choice if I got picked by her to get this awesome RAK). THEN she added a whole bunch of goodies to make up a big fat parcel. Jenna your work is amazing and I am so thrilled to be the proud owner of a Jenna original. Thank you so much. A whole Bunch of Goodies

During the past week I received some fun goodies in the mail and I wanted to send out a quick note of thanks. First I received a fun random drawing prize package from BPM(Backporch Memories). Thank you so much for the beautiful little chipboard book kit which includes paper and embellies to complete a really awesome project. Then I received my prize package from Scrapbook Warehouse for winning their Valentine Card Contest. I received some super cool primas in funky glittery colors, as well as rub-ons and a mini album paper pack. Getting new stuff in the mail is so much fun - Cannot wait to start something new and try out some of my new supplies. Thank you so much guys.Pin It

A family Layout

I created this layout for a challenge over at Backporch Memories - we had to use a sketch and it was so much fun because there are a lot of elements involved.
