Here is a sneak peak of the Sketch and card I made for NSD at Scrap 4 Life. I will post the card challenge at NOON (MDT) on Saturday under the National Scrapbook Forum. You will have until Sunday to complete your card and post it on the S4L Gallery. The winning card and runner-up will be determined by the rest of the Design Team and posted here and at Scrap 4 Life. I am so excited to host this challenge and to see all your beautiful creations. from Guest to Family

I am so excited to announce that I am now a full time member of Regina Easter's Bitten by the Bug Blog. I was the guest designer on there for the month April and now I have graduated :) It is a fun challenge blog that Regina has started for those of us that own Cricut or Expression Machines. Each week she posts a challenge to use cuts on cartridges and gives you examples of those cuts through the Designers work. This card was made using the window in the "Walk in my Garden" Cartridge. A Cupcake for Anna

Our sweet little friend, Anna, is celebrating her 8th birthday tomorrow. I made this little cupcake card for her because the theme of her party is "kooky cupcakes" - bet it is going to be lovely. We are also attending Ashton's first Ballet concert tomorrow - I think it is going to be a wonderful day filled with little girl dreams, cupcakes and sprinkles.Pin It

Hey Cupcake (Project)

Regina's challenge to her designers this week was to make something out of the Popcorn box from the Cricut cartridge: Tags, Bags, Boxes & More. Cyber Crop

I participated in my first ever Cyber Crop over at S4L this weekend and it was totally fun. Jenn hosted it and really got the creative juices flowing with some awesome challenges. I made this layout as part of an "Ad Inspiration" challenge. I love doing layouts inspired by advertisements - it's like a double dose of creativity. I {Heart} my Grandma

This layout was made from pictures taken during the Grandparents recent visit. Ashton did the journaling all by herself. It reads: I {heart} my Grandma {heart} Ashton. (4.16.08 3yr9mo). What a Wonderful World (Card)

I guess it is appropriate to whip up a card this morning, titled: What a Wonderful World, when you live in a place like Colorado. Last week we experienced Blizzard like conditions and then today the sun is out, not a cloud in sight, blossoms are flourishing and yes I can hear birds chirping (over the chitter-chatter of the kids and Kev outside). New Banner

I am sure you all noticed my new banner (kinda big enough right?). I am so new to blogging (only been doing this since Jan 08) that I am still experimenting with My "look". Scallops is big with me right now, and so is B&W, and I love pink and buttons too - and lets not forget bling and ribbons - so lets see how long I can sit with this banner..hopefully all the way to fall - that is if I don't start receiving pleas to take it down!Pin It

Crossing over to Hybrid..um..not just yet!

This card is my first attempt at Hybrid (ever!!). It was a little more time consuming than I am use to but I do believe practice (and lots of it) makes perfect (or good enough). The card is based off CPS sketch #59. The challenge on that blog was to go Hybrid and the Designers did an amazing job. This one reads: Spring is here and was made using Digital paper and embellies from Shabby Princess. The B&W paper and ribbon are good'ol regular scrapbooking materials from my bag of leftovers.Pin It

Happiness (Layout)

I used Glitz Design patterned paper (Urban Tropical, Urban Ripped Notes and their appropriately named Sublime Wacky Stripe). The title was done using their Rub-ons - yep the wording AND the flamingo is Glitz!!! Hula Doll (layout)

I made this layout using Glitz paper. They are the Manufacturer of the Month at Scrap 4 Life and have the yummiest of colors, designs and rub-ons to choose from. Daddy and Alex (Layout)

The Girls have their Grandparents visiting for a week so there is great excitement in our household. Grandma has already bundled everyone up and gone for a walk to the park. This is such a wonderful time for the girls so I hope to get lots of pictures to capture some very special memories. I made this layout of Alex, who was not even a few hours old when Daddy snuggled her and gave her "Daddy Kisses". I remember this day as if it were yesterday (and it is coming up on 2 years now!) Melissa's Yummy Banana Bread

I was stalking Melissa's blog (again) and came across her Banana Bread Recipe. It so happens I was planning on making Banana Bread so I thought I would give her version a try. It was absolutely divine - Ashton told me I can make "Mommy's Banana Bread" anytime - it was hard explaining to her that it was Melissa's Banana Bread because then she became all possessive and said it was Ashton's Banana Bread - I just said Ok I would make Mommy's Banana Bread again because I am sure that is what Melissa calls it when her kids ask...so in all fairness it can be Mommy's Banana bread to anyone :). I made this card for my good friend Karol (who lives in Texas). They just got back from a trip to South Africa and she brought me some things from my Mom. K - I know you get to see the card here but what you don't see is the little surprise I included in the card for you :) You will have to wait for the mail man for that one... Toot Toot Tooooot!!!!

I have just heard that I made the new team of Designers for Scrap 4 Life. It has been a very exciting 4 weeks that has got me here and I am so super excited to be working with Jodie and the rest of the Girls that made it through. This is the layout I created for the final challenge. The criteria was that we use Red, Blue, Yellow, Green and Orange as predominant colors and also focus on the journaling. You can see the final 10's layouts on the S4L gallery under week 4 Design Team entries. I used Paper Trunk for the Patterned Paper (their paper is awesome) and the Journaling reads:

It has taken me more than two years to scrapbook these pictures of you. I remember that day so clearly, it was right around Christmas time (2005). It’s not that the pictures are not great – in fact they are wonderful – it’s just that I did not want to choose ONE – I loved them all – so I picked seven! (out of more than 50!!)

Now I am off to do some serious breathing - it feels as if I have been holding my breath all morning :). Thank you all for posting moral support for me during this journey - we made it!!!!Pin It
