Live more. Laugh Often, Love Much

I am thrilled to be back at my desk creating again after all the fun and total mind-blowing inspiration from CHA.  This is my JustRite card for Laura's sketch this week at 2 Sketches 4 You.  The deadline is tonight to win some amazing product from JustRite Stampers.  For this card I used the super fun new Decorative 2" Square Monogram kit and the brand new Romantic Sentiments.  I also used two of the beautiful Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Pendants for the center of Laura's sketch (which I turned slightly to make it a diamond shape).
Thanks for stopping by - I hope you are having an enjoyable Saturday evening getting crafty!

Spellbinders Presto Punch

Cha was wonderful.  I was lucky enough to attend this year as part of the Spellbinders Design Team AND also be part the exciting launch of the brand new Spellbinders Presto Punch!  Thank you so much to everyone that stopped by the Spellbinders booth to listen to my demonstration and to just say hi.  It was wonderful meeting so many of you that I have considered online friends...I promise to be a much better friend to you all this year by visiting your blogs more often!
I have a few things to catch up on after  my little stint away but will post a project or two in the next couple of days.
It is good to be back blogging again

My first attempt at Flowersoft..

One of the fun things about making cards is that there is always a first for something and this holds true on this card too :) I tried, for the very first time eva, Flowersoft. I thought that these topiary stamps from Starving Artistamps would be perfect for my Flowersoft debut - I rather enjoyed myself and am now thinking of other ways to use my Flowersoft. Starving Artistamps are sponsoring 2 Sketches 4 You this week and are giving away gorgeous stamps to Card of the Week. Details HERE. Oh yes for those of you that would like to try some Flowersoft - Starving Artistamps sell them too ;)
Just 5 more sleepies before CHA...

Baby Girl Vintage Card

I love the look of vintage so I jumped at the opportunity to use the brand new Spellbinders™ die template S5-021 Cherry Pickin' Frameabilities® and a Spellbinders™ Impressabilities™ to create this faux vintage look. Here are all the details and step by step instructions for your to achieve this look too:

  • Spellbinders™ Frameabilities® S5-021 Cherry Pickin’
  • Spellbinders™ Impressablities™ I2-1002 Butterflies
  • ColorBox Razzberry Pigment Brush Pad by Clearsnap
  • Vintage image Cotton Scraps by Crafty Secrets
  • Perfect Pearls Embellishing Pigment and Perfect Medium by Ranger
  • Pink Cardstock
  • White Cardstock
  • White Acrylic Paint
  • Pink Ribbon from Charles Clay & Sons
  • Buttons for embellishing
  1. To create the letterpress effect on this card simply apply ink directly onto the large frame of Spellbinders™ die template S5-021 Cherry Pickin’.
2. Lay the inked frame cut side up on the Spellbinders™ Magnetic Spacer Plate and position the white cardstock on top of the frame. Cut/emboss the frame using the Wizard™.
3. Apply adhesive to the embossed images of the frame. I used Rangers Perfect Medium which has a sponge applicator.

4. While the adhesive is tacky sprinkle on the pearl pigment and brush off any excess.
5. Remove the S5-021 Cherry Pickin’ die template to reveal a letterpressed, embossed frame with a pearl shimmer.
6. Position your frame over the vintage image. Trim the image to fit and secure on the backside of you
frame with adhesive.
7. Adhere framed image to pink cardstock and trim around the contours of the frame to form a neat border.
8. To create the vintage looking white background I simply painted the Spellbinders™ Impressablities™ I2-1002 Butterflies with white acrylic paint
9. Once dry adhere the painted Impressablities™ onto white cardstock.
10. Fold the pink cardstock to form a card (size 4 ¾ x 6”). Tie the pink ribbon into a decorative knot and secure it to the front of the painted Impressabilities™
11. Finish by adhering the framed image to the center of the card and embellish with buttons.

Following are all the components of this die template:

Die Name: Cherry Pickin’

Die Sku: S5-021

MSRP: $24.99

Limited Edition

Die Dimensions:

Cherry 11/16 x 11/16”

Leaf 11/16 x ½”

Small Frame 2 3/16 x 2 3/16”

Large Frame 4 1/16 x 4 1/16

To show you how versatile this gorgeous little frame is, I created a completely different card for my second project:

For this card, titled Inspire, I used both the small and large frames of S5-021 Cherry Pickin’. With the small frame and the Wizard™ I created a window in the front of the card. The super cute cherries are part of a fabulous set of new Shapeablities® die templates called S4-266 Assorted Fresh Fruit. See Keri Lee Sereika's blog today for S4-266 Assorted Fresh Fruit’s Surprise Party

I bet you are all ready to enter the contest. Here are the details:

January 4, 2010

take a deep breath in...

and slowly let it out..YES! we made it through the Holidays. I am so excited to ship both little ones off to school this morning *grin*. Make no mistake we had a fabulous Christmas and New year but like with so many things I am eager to get this year started.. AND I can technically only do that if I have a little time to myself each day.
So today my 2010 officially starts. This is my first card for the New Year and it is for this weeks sketch over at 2S4Y. The sponsor is InStyle Stamps. The whole design team worked with these adorable digi designs. They are super easy to use - all I did was save mine to desktop, cropped the images to the sizes I wanted, printed and played with my Copics! You can win 5 images of your choice this week so head of over to 2S4Y for the sketch.
Okay so I know I was wanting more time to play but actually Mondays are very very crazy for me. I will try to post midweek again.
Until then - have a good one
