Paper Makeup

I love cute Monsters - especially ones that make you go awwww!  Paper Makeup Stamps, who is sponsoring 2 Sketches 4 You this week has this darling little one called Wally - who I simply could not resist.  This card was super easy to make.  I simply did some very basic paper piecing for the mountains and tree branch then I cut out some clouds and fringe for grass.  I used my Copic markers to color Wally on his swing and finally stamped the sentiment (which comes with the stamp).  You can see more of Paper Makeup Stamps on 2 Sketches 4 You. Don't forget to play along because the prize this week is fabulous!

It is Courtney's turn to provide the Bonus Sketch and Card on 2 Sketches 4 You.  I love this sketch which is super striking and very versatile.  I decided to use another one of Paper Makeups stamps, this time the darling little Lucy Mouse, for my interpretation of her sketch :)  Thanks for the inspiration Court.

Does anyone else feel like they are sitting on quick sand?  I am going to try and tackle one task at a time and hopefully by the end of the day my list of "Things to Do" will be considerably smaller!
Have a great Monday

Happy Birthday Laura :)

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday Dear Laura
Happy Birthday to YOU!

Today is the special day for my BFF and 2S4Ypartner, Laura Davis.  I hope this day turns out to be the best eva with tons of well wishes and a whole bunch of spoil'n from all your family and friends.  To help Laura celebrate the design team from 2 Sketches 4 You (thanks Regina for organizing) have all created a B/day card for Laura.  Enjoy this Mini Hop as we wish Laura an awesome creative day.

This card came together so quickly because I chose to use Cath's 'Just Because' Challenge over at Moxie Fab World.  Check out these gorgeous images which inspired my color palette:

and because Moxie Fab is all about Back to School I used Mint Motif's brand new School Basics stamps for my sentiment (Cath did say whatever so I giva you whatever).  How cute are those lines and the simple handwriting script comes in individual words so you can piece together your own sayings -  This becomes so much more than a school set - love that Kimberly :)  Mint Motif is available exclusively through i{heart}papers.com.  That gorgeous paper is Basic Grey and the ribbon is from American Crafts.

We are enjoying one of the last weekends of Summer by going camping with a whole bunch of fellow South Africans in Fort Collins, Colorado.  There is going to be a 'Potjie Kos' cook-off which my husband is very excited to participate in  - interesting because he is Canadian :) It is going to be a ton of fun.  Hope your weekend is a good one too!

Sweet Home with JustRite

The week continues with JustRite Stampers showcasing their latest releases.  On this card I used a number of JustRite stamps including Back Yard Birds, and the border from My Garden Borders &Centers (Remember to mix and match your stamps sets from older Justrite stamp sets you own.  You will be amazed at the endless possibilities and combinations).  The 'Home' sentiment is from the JustRite font set called Myriad Pro 50pt and is being featured on the JustRite blog today. I love how clean and crisp it is.  Making the little taggy was so quick and easy but you will want to see what the other Designers have created with this font - man this group is talented!

Once again I used my Copic markers which are now available at JustRite Stampers too.  The best news - they are on SALE right now and are available in sets or as individual markers.  I stamped the bird and branch on white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (which works great with Copics because the ink won't cause the marker to bleed or run)

The circle was cut using Spellbinders S4-116 Standard Circles Sm die template and the paper is My Mind's Eye.

I will be back on Friday with a special post - until then have a great hump day :)

Winter Wonder with JustRite

Today I am sharing with you a card made using the brand new Back Yard Birds stamp set from JustRite Stampers.  These 4 designer centers with 4 borders fit your 3 1/4" stamper.  The title is JustRite's Nature Nested Sentiments & Verse and is also part of their August new release sets.

I colored my red Cardinal with my Copic markers which are now available at JustRite Stampers too.  The best news - they are on SALE right now and are available in sets or as individual markers.  I stamped the bird and branch on white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (which works great with Copics because the ink won't cause the marker to blead or run)

Other product on this card is Spellbinders S4-291 Labels Fifteen and S4-253 Fancy Tags.  The paper is Basic Grey and the glitter is Clearsnaps White Frost.

For more samples of this gorgeous set visit the JustRite Stampers blog.

We are taking full advantage of back to school hours so I am off to do some crafting.  Have a great Monday

Thanks so much for all your sweet comments on my previous post.  I too love making cards for all occasions but I must admit it is those Halloween and Christmas cards that top my list.  This is one I made a while back for Spellbinders.  I used Core'dinations cardstock which I lightly sanded to reveal the embossed Impressabilities design.  The scalloped ovals are also Spellbinders die templates which i used to frame my Crafty Secrets image.

The lucky recipient of Paper Crafts latest issue goes to my friend Terrie!  Thanks so much for your comments and support over the years Hon.  Email me your addy and I will get your mag out to you asap

Teacher! You're the Best

Today is the official release day of Mint Motif's School Basics available exclusively through i{heart}papers.com.  This set is so adorable and perfect for all your card making school occasions and then some!  We registered early for school this year and found out who Ashton will have as her 1st Grade teacher!  So it seemed only perfectly fitting that I make Ms. D something to say 'Welcome  back to School' and how excited we are to have her as a teacher during the next year.

There are so many fun stamps in this School Basics set including the writing strip, different words to make up your own sentiment and darling apples and stars to embellish your projects.  I used all of these on this yummy candy jar to welcome back our new teacher to this school year!  The paper is brand new!  It is a special chalkboard paper that Kimberly picked up at CHA called Chalkstock Tile - it looks and feels (and acts) like chalkboard but has the wonderful flexible qualities of paper.  I cut mine with Spellbinders Long Classic Scalloped Rectangles Sm and used VersaMarks White ink to stamp the sentiment and writing strip.

{Blop Hop}
See what the rest of of the Mint Motif Team has created with School Basics

I love this time of year because of all the promise it holds for young and old alike :)  Hope you enjoyed my little bit of School inspiration

A Vintage Christmas with JustRite

All this week JustRite Stampers is featuring Christmas Collection II stamp sets on their blog.   Yesterday they kicked off the week by showing you samples of Christmas Ornaments which you can see here .  My sample can be viewed in a previous post here .  Today we are going vintage baby with vintage style oranaments and colors.  The set is called Vintage Christmas Set and measures 31/4" diameter and comes with 4 round borders and 4 interchangeable centers.  The JustRite sentiment is brand new too and is called Christmas Nested Sentiments - LOVE that font!

The Christmas ornaments I used here come on a single stamp.  I used Tsukineko ink to stamp the image on cardstock and colored them with Copic Markers (this particular ink works great with Copic Markers because it won't smear) .  After trimming each oranament I adhered them to my card with Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam squares for a little dimension.  The little awning is Spellbinders Snowflake Border and the pink dimensional dots are called Glitter Dome from Crystal Stickers.  That gorgeous green and blue paper is My Mind's Eye Colorful Christmas and Basic Grey's Urban Prairie.  Remember you can see more cards for Christmas inspiration all this week on JustRite Stampers Blog.

Have a great crafty Tuesday

Merry & Bright with JustRite

You guys are going to adore the latest Christmas 2010 release stamps from JustRite.  All of this week on the JustRite blog there will be a new set highlighted each day so be sure to mark your calendars and pay us a visit for some super inspiration.

On this card I used the gorgeous ornaments from the JustRite set called Christmas Ornament 3/4" and the sentiment circle is from the same set too.  With this set you get 4 vintage style ornaments (love that) and 4 interchangeable borders.  I colored mine with my Copic markers and I stamped the ornament with Tsukineko Memento black ink.  This particular ink is wonderful to use with Copic markers because it does not smear or smudge.  JustRite sells Memento ink HERE.  (Pretty exciting huh!) and once again that gorgeous die template is Spellbinders S4-292 Beaded Circles.

I will be back to share more on Tuesday - until then enjoy the rest of your Sunday and of course have a great Monday

School Basics Sneak with Mint Motif

Just when you think Mint Motif's stamps can't get any cuter, Kimberly Crawford comes up with this darling school stamp set called School Basics.  There are so many neat elements that can be combined to make a variety of cards that will serve you throughout the school year.

I particularly love the writing strip which measures 5 3/4" x 3/4" (for those, like me, that don't measure  it means that it can make a really nice border on a big card :) The best part is that all the sentiments from this set can be stamped perfectly onto the handwriting strip!!!  Oh my gosh how cool is this!  AND each word is a separate stamp soooo you can make up your own sentiments to suite the occasion - eeeeaak!!!!  The quaint images are perfect for school.  I used the pencil - which I stamped three times and then colored with my Copics.  There are also two different apples, cute little leaves and star shapes.  All this on one set!

Product used on this card:
Stamps: Mint Motif's School Basics, Paper: Webster's Pages Amber Waves, Copic Markers, Spellbinders Nested Apples, Burlap Twine

Now this sneak peek is just a teaser because you are going to have to wait 1 week before you can order School Basics exclusively from  i{heart}papers.com.

Sent with all my Love

You will often find me in the clearance racks of craft stores buying items from past seasons. This pillow box is one of them.  I purchased the 12 pack Wilton Pillow Box Kit after Valentines Day.  To alter it was so super easy and made a generic box unique and a special treat to give to someone you care about.

Mint Motif's Cake Shoppe, Too was my choice of stamps for this project. The darling little polka dots and diamond pattern were perfect for my border strips.  All I did was stamp the polka dots with pink ink on white cardstock.   I cut it into a thin strip and adhered it to the center of the pillow box.  Next I stamped the diamond shape on pink cardstock and colored alternating blocks with my white souffle gel pen.  After mounting the strip onto black cardstock I adhered it to the polka dot panel.  For the tag I used another one of Mint Motif's stamps called Very Square Sentiments .  Finish by tying a bow with twisted burlap and embellish with snowflakes from My Mind's Eye: Colorful Christmas - all available from i{heart}papers.com.

This Saturday is the next Mint Motif sneak peak of their latest release.  It is sooo super cute - I can't wait to share :)

Have a great Wednesday

Tiffany Doodles

The Design team over at 2 Sketches 4 You got to play with Tiffany Doodles digital stamps who are the sponsors this week.  I had fun with this one - Tiffany designs some her digital stamps to fit Spellbinders Nestabilities too.  Here I used the Lenten Blossom Rose and Spellbinders S4-192 Blossom.  Other product to love is Basic Grey Paper (Olivia) and of course my Copic Markes!

I cannot even begin to tell you all how much I am looking forward to this week because it is the first week in a looong time that we have nothing planned - no outings, no visitors, no deadlines!  We are planning to take each day as it comes and enjoy these last two weeks of our Summer vacation.

Have a great Monday
:) Kazan
