JustRite Friday Challenge with Prizes

This week over at the JustRite Stampers Inspiration blog the Friday challenge is being sponsored by Inchie Arts.  These solid core matteboards come in 7 colors and 3 different sizes.  The 2" square matteboards are called Twinchies Squares, the 1" matteboards are called Inchies and then there are also Inchie + Squares which are 1.50".

You are going to love the texture of this product and the thickness too.  It is perfect for stamping and produces a beautiful crisp image to be colored in the medium of your choice.  I used my Copics on this card and as you can see the colors are fresh and vibrant.  The large white square is a 2" Twinchie Square.  I adhered two together for added dimension and colored the edge black for contrast.  The smaller black square is a 1.50" Inchie + Square.  I did trim the sides a little to show more of the JustRite border stamp.  Trimming your inchies is easy and effortless.

My JustRite stamps on this card are one of my favorites 'go- to' stamps.  I seem to use them on a variety of my Christmas projects because they are so versatile and work for both smaller and larger projects.  This set is from JustRite's original series called:

For your opportunity to win some awesome goodies simply head on over to JustRite's Inspiration Blog and participate in this weeks challenge which is a sketch.  You will also find additional takes on the sketch from the rest of the JustRite team :)

Happy Friday

Justrite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop #8

Hi everybody - so good to see you all again.  This is fun - meeting here every Wednesday.  I am just about to refresh my coffee and spend a little time looking through the latest JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops 8! Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps!  And don’t forget that JustRite has some Christmas stamps in their newly released CLING line of stamp sets -- you can find them HERE.  This week, the designers joining the JustRite design team are the Flower Soft and The Shabby Tea Room challenge blog design teams!  So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!

On this week's card  I used an image from the fabulous new JustRite Stampers Cling collection.  The stamps are deeply etched red rubber and are mounted on static cling foam.  They inlcude an 8.5" x 5.5" storage panel which make them easy to store.  Each image clings to any acrylic blog and they are repositional.  I love using the Clings because they are quick and easy to use and the best part - they are compatible with Spellbinders die templates!!!  Order now and you will be happy stamping & die cutting in no time :)

Spellbinders Grand Calibur

I thought I would share Spellbinder's latest & greatest machine with you all.  This folks is the Grand Calibur in real life *lol*.  This big boy can cut and emboss both the Grand dies and a whole bunch of the regular shaped dies. A feature that I loooove!!!  It is really light for a machine of it's size, weighing in at about 10lbs.  It accepts 8 1/2 x 11" paper without trimming and cuts and embosses up to 8 1/8" :)  Turning the handle is super smooth and easy, just another feature which makes the Grand Calibur a great machine to own.

Now there is a another reason for my little show 'n tell - did you see that layout on the back of the box?  That is a layout I made of my oldest daughter using the Grand die templates...YIKES!!!  You can only imagine how excited we both were  to see her layout on the packaging of the Grand Calibur.  This is one box that is not going to morf into a dollhouse fort or get used for recycling magazines - this will be our keepsake box 4eva!! *lol*.

Let me know when you get your machines and we can swap ideas - I am sure you will love it as much as I do,  oh and keep that box will ya :)

JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop #7

You know it is Wednesday because it is time for another JustRite Christmas blog hop extravaganza!  Do you look forward to these hops as much as I do?  I can't wait to see what the other designers have created and each week different gals from other teams play along too which means a double or triple (as in today's case) dose of creativity!   This fun event will carry on every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving and features    JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps!  You also might see some projects from the JustRite design team, using some of their newly released line of CLING stamps!  You can find our new collection of cling stamps HERE.  This week, the designers joining us are most of the Spellbinders and Caardvarks design teams!  So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!

Today I made a card/envelope gift set using the Sleigh and sentiment from JustRite's Old Fashioned Christmas set.  The large shaped cards are made from Spellbinders large format die templates and are made to fit an A7 (5x7) size envelope comfortably.  I tried to not add to much dimension to the cards *lol* so that they were not too bulky to send in the mail.  The kraft box with clear lid was purchased from an office supply store.  Once you have completed the set of cards with matching envelopes simply tie a large bow around the package and embellish with faux berries and shimmery leaves.

JustRite Stamps: Old Fashioned Christmas
Markers: Copic
Ribbon: Michael's
Other: Envelopes and Kraft box from Xpedex and berry sprigs from Hobby Lobby
Buttons: Vintage
Paper: My Mind's Eye
Cardstock: WorldWin white and kraft

Hi Marci - thanks for that great question.  I think with time you will find that purchasing the Grand Calibur will be very beneficial because you can cut with many of your smaller dies templates on it all at the same time, as well as cutting the new Grand dies templates (oh and don't forget embossing too!) .  However that does not solve your immediate problem...here is some information that I obtained from Spellbinders for you.  The bottom line is that you will be able to use your Big Shot to cut some of the dies. The trick is to measure the cutting surface of your Big Shot (specifically the width) to make sure the die templates will fit.  The following are measurements of the die templates themselves - from outside edge to outside edge.  The individual die cuts will obviously be a bit smaller:

Grand Classic Circles – (7 dies) 7½", 7", 6½", 6", 5½", 5", 4½"
Grand Scalloped Circles – (6 dies) 7½", 7", 6½", 6", 5½", 5"
Grand Classic Squares – (7 dies) 7¼", 6¾", 6¼", 5¾", 5¼", 4¾", 4¼"
Grand Scalloped Squares – (6 dies) 7⅜", 6¾", 6¼", 5¾", 5¼", 4¾"
Grand Classic Ovals – (6 dies) 6⅛", 5⅝", 5⅛", 4⅝", 4⅛", 3⅝"
Grand Scalloped Ovals – (6 dies) 6¾", 6¼", 5¾", 5¼", 4¾", 4¼"
Grand Labels One – (6 dies) 7⅛", 6¾", 6", 5½", 5", 4½"
Grand Labels Four – (6 dies) 6¼", 5¾", 5¼", 4¾", 4⅛", 3⅝"

I hope this helps you - can't wait to see some of your projects too :)

Thank you so much for spending part of your day with me.  Enjoy the hop, see you next week, same time same place for sure!

Time to win with i{heart}papers

Hello and welcome to the i {heart} papers 2nd Birthday Bash blog hop and scavenger hunt!  You should have arrived here from Julie.  If you're jumping into the middle (or if you're lost!) be sure to start at Kate's.  You don't want to miss a thing!

Today we’re celebrating two great years of IHP and are delighted to have some fabulous guest designers playing along with our talented design team members to bring some birthday paper-crafting inspiration your way!  Our design team and guests are revealing their creations for this month's design team challenge--to design the "Perfect Pair"--a birthday card and coordinating gift, tag or other presentation item.

We would love if you would join us in making a Perfect Pair of your own (upload to your blog or an online gallery with the keyword IHPBB10).  Be sure to post your link on Kate’s blog so we can see your project and enter your name in our challenge prize drawings.

In addition to today's design team challenge, we've got some fun celebrating in store for tomorrow and Thursday!  Don't worry - you won't have to hop every day!  Kate will be hosting a sketch challenge tomorrow on her blog, and Deb has another challenge for you on Thursday. Winners for each day will be randomly drawn from each day's entries, and everyone who plays along, either with the challenges and/or the scavenger hunt (more on that below) will be eligible for the grand prize drawing that will close the festivities on Friday.

{Scavenger Hunt}
Submitting your challenge projects is not the only way to win!  Tucked into the text of today's blog posts we've provided clues to an easy scavenger hunt (most have to do with our favorite products and tools or hobbies and interests we have) that we invite you to play as you hop.   When you find the answer, click the link to visit the store and collect "evidence" that is listed on that particular product’s page and email your complete list, in blog hop order, to Kate when you're finished.  You can take your time and stretch the hop over the three days of our Birthday Bash celebration...it's not a race, but like any other sale, the earlier you shop, the better the selection!  Deadline to submit your scavenger hunt entry is Friday morning, 3AM EST.

By participating in the scavenger hunt you'll receive an exclusive, one time use 20% off coupon code to use when you shop at i {heart} papers.  (This will be emailed to you after the Bash when entries are checked.)  You will also be entered for your chance to win the grand prize $50 gift certificate drawing on Friday.

ALL orders placed during the Bash (Oct 19-21) will receive a free goodie bag of surprise merchandise.  The more you spend, the bigger your goodie bag!

Also, there will be random drawings for additional prizes from our PaperCraft Planet group members, our mailing list (sign up on the right side of the homepage) and our fans on Facebook.  If you are on all three, then you’ve got triple the chances to win!

May all your Days be Merry & Bright...

Mint Motif Release

Today Mint Motif officially releases their latest stamps and I think I am officially in love with Beyond Borders and Very Merry Sentiments! The different designs on Beyond Borders are so versatile and can be used for so many different occasions.  I predict that Very Merry Sentiments will be as popular as Very Square sentiments so get yours soon before they sell out :) What I love about them:  They are perfectly spaced to make neat little tags which seems to be my latest addiction.

For this little gift set I made the focus a tad more masculine and mountainy.  I Love the earthy colors and of course that gorgeous check patterned paper from Basic Grey, available from i{heart}papers.com.  The red pleat and brown ribbon are also from i{heart}papers.com.   I decided to cut our the inside design of the border to allow the candle light to shine through.

I bet you are all eager to see what the rest of the team has created :)  Here you go...

{Win yourself an early Christmas Present}

The folks at Mint Motif and i{heart}papers are giving away 1 set of Beyond Borders to a random winner and 1 set of Very Merry Sentiments to a second random winner who comments on any of the Design Team members blogs.  Good luck I hope you win on my blog :)

Thanks so much for visiting.
Have a wonderful Thursday

A Gift For You by Flourishes: Sneak Peek Hop

*Whoot-Whoot Chile.  We are all celebrating with you tonight*

If you’ve been searching for a perfect set that could give class and elegance to your Christmas gift packaging, search no more! Today, Flourishes is sneak peaking a brand new set called:

Some of the Spellbinders’ team is joining them in the fun! This set was designed not only to coordinate with some of Flourishes best-selling Christmas stamp sets but with more than a handful of Spellbinders Template Dies! A Gift For You - drawn by the ever-so-talented Marcella Hawley - offers 8 different tag styles and 8 different mini sentiments to fit inside!

{Coordinating Stamps & Spellbinders Die Templates}

To make sure your tags come out with a regal style and design, this set coordinates with Spellbinders Labels 14, Labels 15, Labels 16, as well as some of the new circular and square shaped designs like Lacey, Eyelet and Beaded Circles and Lacey or Eyelet Squares! The customizable options are endless.  I used one of the Gift For You stamp sets with Spellbinders Labels Fourteen

{Design Tip}

Notice how the bow on the tag is a little more dimensional than the rest of the image?  I stamped the bow twice and colored both with my Copic markers.  After trimming the one bow I adhered it to the 2nd bow on the tag with foam dots to give it a little lift :)

JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop #6

Wow can you believe it is Wednesday already!!!  Time seems to be zipping by but in true Wednesday fashion I am back to share a project for JustRite Stampers newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #6!   Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps!  This week, it’s most of the Copic design team and Certification instructors!  So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!

For my project this week I took a plain paper bag:  added some paper, glitter, ribbon and a combination of die templates to take my little snowman & snowflake sentiment to center stage. Here is what you will need to complete this project:

Ribbon: American Crafts
Post-it Craft Paper Fully Adhesive
Glitter: Clearsnap
Glitter Stickers: K&Company
Paper: Doodlebug Designs
Other: Craft paper lunch bags

Ready to see what the other designers have created...well look no further because I have the whole group listed for you here:

: Thanks for that great question Debbie.  I actually learned this technique at CHA when Cathy Chlebana made a snowflake pin as a make-'n-take at the Spellbinders Booth.  Cut a piece of Post-it Craft paper to match the size of your die template. Run it through your die cutting machine so that you have your desired shape.  For my sample I first cut the Crown Circle die and then I positioned a circle die template and cut again to make the crown circle frame.  Next you peel the backing off of the Post-it adhesive paper and dip the entire cut shape in a bowl of shallow glitter.  You will have a perfect glitter embellishment without uneven spaces and globs of glue.  It is one of my favorite techniques which you will see quite a bit of on my blog - keep watching this space :)

Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy day to stop by.  Have a fabulous Wednesday :)
