A nest for Nestabilities

My card this week for the Spellbinders Blog is a spring card featuring a Gina K Nesting Stamp.   I cut the image with Spellbinders Lacey Oval and adhered it to Spellbinders Wonky Rectangle.  For details on this card or about product used visit the Spellbinders Blog.

We had an adorable Robin's nest in our backyard tree last spring - I hope she returns this year again.
Happy Tuesday.

I love owls, felt and Spellbinders!  I decided to take a few of my Nestabilities and Shapeabilities and combine the shapes to make this little owl perched on a branch.  The bag is also felt (although not made by me haha!)  and purchased on clearance at Michaels - all I did was assemble my felt die cut outs an and adhered them to the bag.  For the supply list deets and instructions on this project visit Spellbinders Blog.

Happy Monday.

a first for me: woven basket

This week on the Spellbinders Blog I created a basket made almost entirely out of cardstock and embellished with Spellbinders die templates.  Although this weaving thing was basically a first for me (not counting the woven placemat I made in grade 1) I did have fun watching it come together. Our girls are very impressed - even to go as far as saying I weave like the ladies in South Africa.  They mean the Zulu weavers who are in my opinion the masters of weavers.  I had to laugh because my children do have elevated opinions on Hubs and my capabilities!!! but for now I will take that compliment and keep practicing until maybe someday I too can weave like the Zulus!!

I have instructions on how to make this basket on the Spellbinders Savvy Saturday~Easter Woven Basket blog post.

Have a wonderful Saturday - the weather is warming so we will spend part of today outside!

JustRite Stampers: Faith & A Mega Sale

Today I am participating in another new release reveal for JustRite Stampers.  This cling set is called Faith and it is beautiful.  The set comes with 16 deeply etched red rubber cling stamps that are mounted on static cling foam.  I colored the intricate borders with my Copic markers and used one of the several beautiful scripts for my sentiment.

Other product includes paper from The Girls Paperie and My Mind's Eye.  The tassel and ribbon are from Hobby Lobby and that embossed rectangular panel is Spellbinders Mega Deckled Rectangles SM.

Once again some of the JustRite Designers have come together to give you stunning inspirational examples:

Vintage Floral Labels from JustRite

It is time for me to reveal another new release from JustRite Stampers and this one is reeeeaaallly a beauty.  The set is called Vintage Floral Labels and has to be one of my favorites by far.  The gorgeous intricate borders are detailed yet leave enough room for you to color to your hearts content.  I love the sentiments too and their beautiful scripted fonts make this set especially elegant and fine.

I colored the flower and leaf border with my Copics and then stamped the outer circle in pink and the inner circle sentiment in green. Each layer is seperated by foam squares to give my gift bag added dimension.

I love the challenges offered by Moxie Fab World and this one is perfect for Cath's A Gift Wrap Challenge.  You can play along too :) find the deets on this post: 350 Cards & Gift Week: A Gift Wrap Challenge

A Warm Hello (and yummy too)

I love taking something really simple and making it special - and as crafters we are lucky to have the tools, means and ability to do just that.  This particular little project did not take long at all to put together however I think the extra effort makes all the difference when presenting your gesture of kindness to a friend.

JustRite Stampers recently released their own custom dies from Spellbinders.  I used the Charm Dies for my cookie wrap.  These dies were designed to coordinate perfectly with a variety of JustRite stamps and it is seriously so quick and easy to make a professionally looking tag for virtually any occasion - gotta love that! But wait there is more to reveal though..

This month Justrite has released the brand new borders and centers set called A Warm Hello.  This set comes with 9 borders and centers (that's 18 interchangeable stamps!!!) which have the following great features:

  • Centers fit 1-5/8" and 2" Round Stamper
  • Centers also fit 2" Square Stamper
  • Use centers with 15 pt letters to create custom borders

I do love stitching on my projects and you may have noticed that one of the centers above has a perfect round border of little dots.  I stamped this border on cardstock and cut out the shape using Spellbinders     Fleur de lis Doily Motifs.   Following the center dot pattern I pierced the holes, hand stitched with floss and then adhered the cookie doily topper to parchment paper and secured my cookie stack with twine.

Now I am sure you are ready to see more JustRite inspiration using this new set..okay here you go:

Eggs-cellent Bling

Easter is almost upon us and one of the fun events during this special celebration is decorating eggs.  I am a serious Spellbinders addict and will add a die cut image to just about anything.  It was not a far stretch of my imagination for me to add Spellbinders Banner Basics Two, Banner Basics Three and Play Time die templates to my hot pink colored eggs.  Spellbinders Premium Craft Foil is easy to cut and shape around irregular shaped objects which added to the sparkle and shine on my eggs. For further details on this project visit the Spellbinders Blog.

I cannot believe this week is almost over.  I hope this Thursday is a good one for you all.  Thanks for stopping by

a Purse and Mini Purse Spellbinders Style

I made this purse for a Spellbinders Blog post based on the instructions and inspiration provided by Spellbinders Designer Mona Pendleton.  You may remember recently when Stacey Caron was on HSN she showcased the Grand Calibur and the Grand Nestabilities - well one of the samples she showed was Mona's purse!  When I started out making my version of the now famous purse my oldest daughter requested one for her doll too!  How could I resist :)

To see Mona's purse and full instructions please visit my post entitled: Savvy Saturday~Grand Nestabilities Gift Bag on Spellbinders Blog.

We have just returned from a wonderful vacation in California. It was the girl's first trip to Disneyland and they LOVED it. We were blessed with fantastic company, awesome weather and a vacation to be remembered for years to come!

Have a great Monday
