Layers of Color Wishes

Sadly this is my last Wednesday as the Guest Designer for Layers of Color however it is not goodbye but rather 'until we meet again'.  I love Layers of Color's stamps and Laura and Linda are both the sweetest & nicest people to design for.  Thank you for this wonderful opportunity and for allowing me to have the creative freedom to design with your gorgeous stamps.  Layers of Color is a beautiful company and I certainly will enjoy creating with your products for years to come :)

On this card I used three stamp sets from Layers of Color.  The Victorian Frame Cling art stamp is specifically designed to fit Spellbinders Labels Fourteen.   I stamped the image using Memento Ink and colored them with my Copic markers.  The flowers are from the  Floret Cling Rubber art stamp, which I stamped twice and fussy cut and colored with my Copic markers.  Finally I stamped the sentiment, which is from one of my favorite Layers of Color sets called Happy Wishes.  I adhered all the elements with foam adhesives squares for added dimention.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope your Wednesday is fabulous!

Wild about Butterflies

Wednesday is Layers of Color Day for the month of June.  I am guest designing for them and let me tell you it wonderful creating each week with stamps I love.  I decided to do something different this week by dabbling in the world of stamping & home decor.  This little wall plaque was a clearance purchase way back when and needed a some crafty TLC to bring it back to it's former glory :)

 {Supplies}

{How To}

  1. Stamp frame image onto textured paper.  Distress the edges with ink.
  2. Position Labels Sixteen die template over the center image and cut using the Grand Calibur Machine.
  3. Adhere a piece of gold cardstock to the back of the panel and mat onto black cardstock.  Adhere panel to the wooden wall plaque.
  4. Stamp butterfly image twice onto white cardstock. Color with markers. Trim both images.  Adhere the first image to the center of the gold section.  Fold the wings of the second butterfly and adhere it to the first butterfly with a glue dot (keep the wings free of adhesive and folded up to create a dimensional look)
Thanks so much for joining me today. I hope you have a fantastic Wednesday.
Take care.

Layers of Color Vintage Cottage Rose Bag

Wednesday's in June mean a Guest Design Spot for me over at Layers of Color. This week I took a plain kraft gift bag and embellished it with beautiful stenciled patterns and fussy cut roses to transform it from drab to fab!

The roses are from the Layers of Color set called Cottage Rose.  I stamped the whole image twice and colored them with Copic Markers.  I then stamped the rose image twice and colored them with Copic markers.  After cutting out each flower I adhered them to the first image with foam dots.

To create interest on the bag I stenciled the intricate design using Layers of Color Vintage Medallion art stencil and finished the look by tying a big satin bow on the handle.

Shrink Plastic Stamped Charms

I purchased shrink plastic on clearance a while back thinking I would find a good use for it someday. Well that day arrived when JustRite released their beautiful stamp set called Charming Christmas.

These stamps are designed to match the JustRite custom Spellbinders Charm Dies.  Their regular size makes them perfect on cards and to use as tags on gifts but it becomes extra exciting when you stamp an image on shrink plastic, die cut the shape and then shrink it to the size of a real charm that can be attached to a charm bracelet!

{Supplies}

{How to}

1. Stamp the image onto clear shrink plastic.  Let dry.  Flip image over and color the image on the back side using Copic markers
2. Position the Charm die template over the image (cut side down) & secure with tape and cut out die with a die cutting machine
3. Lay the cut dies on parchment paper in a cookie sheet and bake in the oven according to the manufactures directions.  My oven was set to 325'f and I baked my charms for 3min.
4. The end result are perfectly sized miniatures charms that can be attached to a charm bracelet with small round jewelry rings.

{Charming Inspiration}

Thank you so much for visiting today.  I hope you enjoyed all the inspiration around this very versatile set.  I know I will be putting it to good use this year!
Have a fantastic Monday

Merry and Bright with JustRite

Today is another JustRite Christmas in June release day.   Merry & Bright is a stamp set filled with beautiful ornaments, sentiments and Holiday decorations.

I used the sentiment from the Merry & Bright set. The inside border is part of the center of the oranment stamp which I stamped and trimmed to fit the window in my card.

 It is always great when you learn something new!  I will admit that I did not know what the pine branch is called - you know the one you display on a mantel at Christmas Time.  Kellie at JustRite kindly educated me on the correct terminology: it is called a Christmas Bough.  The reason why I am telling you this is because I used the Christmas Bough from the Deck the Halls Stamp set to make my wreath!   I simply stamped the Christmas Bough in a circular pattern to form a wreath shape before cutting a hole in the middle to reveal my sentiment.

This is once again a window card (they are so much fun to make and super easy too when you use Spellbinders die templates).  I used Spellbinders Standard Circles Lg to cut the window in the center of my wreath.   Those delicious gem berries are from Want2Scrap and the Christmassy paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle.

Layers of Color Vintage Roses For You

Yay it is Wednesday which means time for me to show you another Layers of Color card as part of my June Guest Design Team term.  I love this Vintage Roses stamp set because of the many layers and intricate details.

To create this intricate card I used a few of my Spellbinders die templates such as the Fleur De Lis Rectangles die templates to make the shaped card and Lacey Circles to frame the image.

I colored my Vintage Roses with Copic markers and layered them to make them more dimensional.  The sentiment tag is also a stamp from Layers of Color and belongs to a set called Happy Wishes (which has a fantastic assortment of sentiments in the beautiful font styles).

Layers of Color has beautiful stamp sets and samples on their website. To see more visit Layers of Color and be prepared to be inspired!

Thank you so much for visiting today - See you next Wednesday - same place & time for another Layers of Color project!

Celebrate Peace on Earth with JustRite

I love this time of the month when JustRite reveals their newest collections.  We are celebrating Christmas in June by revealing the brand new Peace on Earth Borders & Centers ribbed oval stamp set.

  • 4 Designer Center Set with 4 Borders
  • Use font in the center grid to create a monogram or your own message
  • The outer groove / border does not accept font for word borders
  • Perfect images for coloring with pencils or alcohol marker pens

My very vintage Christmas card was created using Spellbinders Lattice Rectangles.  I once again created a shaped card and adhered vintage inspired elements to the front panel.  The sentiment stamp and oval script background are from  Peace on Earth Borders & Centers.  The interior images on the oval centers are designed to be compatible with Spellbinders Nestabilites -Labels Six, Labels Ten, Labels Fourteen and Labels Eighteen.  This is the first JustRite Oval set that has been designed to be compatible with dies that are not oval in shape

{Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger}

Moxie Fab world is offering this delicious & divine inspiration as the Tuesday Trigger this week.  I must admit those colors are particulary enticing!  I loved the pink against the white can chocolate - perfect colors for my festive card!

Paying it Forward: Patriotic Star

Scrapbooks etc. Craft It Forward - 468x60 blog button

This had to be one of the most rewarding projects I have made in a long time.  Scrapbook Etc is hosting a blog hop to pay it forward and thank those that have served our great country.  I wanted to make a card that would also be a keepsake for a soldier serving overseas and decided on a  3D Patriotic Star that a soldier could hang in his barracks.

I loved the inspirational cards on the Scrapbook Etc Hop, especially those dimentional stars which I used as inspiration to create my 3D Patriotic Star.  I kept one side of my card blank to write a little note of appreciation and then decided to personalize the card with a picture of our family.

Supplies

  • Spellbinders S4-092 Stars Five
  • JustRite Stampers/Spellbinders Custom Nested Frames Die Template
  • Flourishes Tag Lines Stamp Set
  • Best Creation Glitter Paper
  • Scor-Pal
  • Adhesive Spray
  • Cardstock (blue and white)
  • Twine
  • Buttons

Instructions

1. Cut 4 large stars from blue cardstock using the largest star die template.  Cut 4 medium stars from white cardstock. Cut 3 small stars from red patterned paper.  Adhere the polka dot star to the white star and then to the blue star. Repeat all starts are completed.  One star will have a blank white star to add journaling and a picture.
2. Score a line down the center of each star and fold along the scored line to form a crease.
3. Spray adhesive on the back of each star and adhere one folded side to the next star's folded side.  Before adhering the final star, rest a looped piece of twine in the center which will become the hanger.
4. Finish by stamping a thank you tag cut with a Nested Frame die and embellishing with buttons.

Guest Designing for Layers of Color ;)

I am thrilled to announce that I am the Guest Designer at Layers of Color for the entire month of June.  This is also the month that Layers of Color celebrates it's BIRTHDAY, so to kick off the celebrations I created this shaped birthday card.

I have used two of my favorite Layers of Color stamp sets on this card.  The beautiful butterfly is from Butterfly Collector.  I am addicted. Every project on my desk has a dimenstional butterfly on - I think I might just need a butterfly intervention!

Tip:
To create a dimensional butterfly simply stamp the image twice onto cardstock.  I colored both images with my Copic markers so that they were identical. Trim around the edges of both.  Adhere the first butterfly to your card. Gently fold up the wings of the second butterfly and adhere to the first with a glue dot.

The second stamp set that I ADORE is the sentiment set called Happy Wishes.  The fonts are amazingly gorgeous and once again sentiments that I find myself reach for over and over again :)  I made the shaped card with my Spellbinders
