Handmade Holidays Blog Hop Day 3!

Calling all crafters!  We've gathered designers from some of our favorite manufacturers to show you ways to create something from the heart this holiday season.  This 3 day Hop includes over 60 stops with inspiration brimming from every corner. Explore all thoughtful and frugal handmade gifts you could make for the holidays, all in one place on this Hop!

{Win Fab Prizes}

To sweeten the Hop, the fabulous sponsors are offering a gift for you! For every comment you leave on the blogs in the Hop, you’ll be entered to win a prize pack from one of the participating manufacturer sponsors!

Here is what you could win from Spellbinders!

Our assignment for this hop was to make something special that can be given as a gift, but that also did not break the bank either!  I chose to make a pendant using Spellbinders die templates and Clearsnap inks and added the little gift box as a special touch.  This project was easy to make and not expensive at all - here are the details:

Spellbinders Paper Arts Products:

Clearsnap Products
  • ColorBox Archival Dye Cat's Eye
  • Smooch
Other:
paperclay modeling material, velvet jewelry cord, round jewelry links, parchment paper, ultra thick craft  glaze
{Tutorial}

Place a small amount of paperclay modeling material between two s
heets of parchment paper.  Position the die template with the cut side up on the Base Plate A and lay your parchment paper over it and run it through the Grand Calibur Die Cutting machine.  Don't remove any paper from the cut image.  Allow the image t
o dry.  Decorate the image with ink products.  Use a pin tack to poke a small hole to thread a jewelry hoop through.

Using a paint brush adhere the ultra thick glaze to both sides of the image (do one side first and allow to dry thoroughly before completing the other side).  Cut/emboss box and lid and embellish with ink and Impressabilities die template.

{Tip}
Cut the Impressabilities using a sharp pair of scissors to fit the box. Adhere the Impressabilities section using a small adhesive dot but allow the top part of the Impressabilities to be adhesive free.  When you place the lid on the box the sides of the lid can be tucked under the Impressabilities for a unique and secure clasp :)

Visit each blog on the list below and leave a comment on each by Nov 7, 2011 at 11:59 PM PST.   Be sure to visit the blogs from Day 1 and 2 of this hop to increase your chances of winning!!
