Yellow Rose Card, CHA Sneak and a Sale!

JustRite Stampers have fantastic new releases out right now and some CHA sneak peeks that are available for pre-ordering too.  They also have a retirement sale going on so let's get started with all the deets.

On today's card I used their brand new CHA 2012 stamp set called

6" x 8" Set of 23 Clear stamps
•1 medallion
•9 decorative elements
•13 sentiments

This stamp set coordinates perfectly with JustRite's newest custom Spellbinders die template set called

Spellbinders™ Co-branded

Set of 5 custom dies

Coordinates with JustRite Cling Sets: CL-03535 Always And Forever Medallion Labels & CL-03545 Your Special Day Medallion Labels

Supplies: JustRite's With Sympathy Clear stamp set and Nested Oval Medallion Label Dies.  Spellbinders Grand Labels Twenty-Three die template and the Grand Calibur machine, Pink Paislee Paper, Copic Markers and Want2Scrap self adhesive bling.

To make this card I started out by stamping the rose image onto cardstock and coloring them with my Copic markers.  I stamped the image twice and then fussy cut portions of the second rose and adhered them to the first image with foam squares to give my flowers a lot more dimension.

I stamped my frame image onto white cardstock and positioned the JustRite/Spellbinders custom die template over the image and secured it with tape. After cutting/embossing the image with the Grand Calibur machine I stenciled over the stamped image with chalk pastels.  To create the frame I needed to remove the oval center which I carefully trimmed with a pair of scissors. After adhering the frame to yellow cardstock I adhered my yellow roses to the center.

My stamped roses might look a little different than the original image - that's because I trimmed the roses and adhered them to the frame in a way that would make them fit snuggly within the frame.  I also moved the leaves from the top of the image to the bottom stem.

Here is a quick and easy craft project that you can accomplish in under an hour!  I etched into these wine glasses using an etching cream and Spellbinders die templates.  A fun way to spruce up your mismatched stemware or to give someone special a personalized gift :)

I have a tutorial on today's Spellbinders blog post:

I wanted to take this opportunity to wish all my friends, fellow bloggers and crafters a wonderful Christmas.  Here's wishing each and every one of you all the joy & magic of the Season.

This week on Spellbinders Blog post I have a video tutorial on how to make a shaped card using Spellbinders Grand Calibur Machine.  This time of year is so busy however even with all the hustle and bustle I still like to send out handmade cards.  I using the large cutting surface on the Grand Calibur I was able to whip this baby up in almost no time at all :)

{ Congrats!}

Please email me at  with your mailing address details so that I can get your issue of Sewing off to you!

I hope your weekend was fabulous!  Ours was super busy so now I need to get this house back to normal for the week.  Have a good one.

Sewing on Projects & a Giveaway!

I love sewing on my projects - actually I hand stitch on my cards, scrapbook pages and mixed media projects.  I do own a sewing machine but am a bit intimidated to use it - is there someone in the Denver area that would be willing to show me how to use one?  *ha*!!!!  I created this little felt gift box ornament for the Spellbinders Blog post titled:  A Special Ornament for a very Special Tree.  I have a little tutorial on how I created the ornament too!

I was lucky enough to be published in this issue of Simply Handmade Sewing from Northridge Publishing.  It is filled with beautiful ideas to inspire you to get  that needle and thread out and get sewing!  I have an extra issue to giveaway to one lucky reader of my blog.  Leave me a comment here by Midnight Sunday December 11, 2011 (mst) and let me know some of the things you like to sew.  I will randomly select a winner and announce it here on Monday December 12!

Thanks for stopping by :)
