JustRite Stampers A Song in my Heart

I love the way JustRite Stampers always seem to have the most beautiful and appropriate sentiments when our own words don't seem to be enough.  Today I am taking part in the new JustRite Original oval release called: Song in My Heart.   This stamp is one of 4 designer centers and 4 designer borders and reads:

A Friend
is someone who
knows the
Song in your
heart &
can Sing
it back to you
when you have
forgotten
the words.

We all have friends in our lives that know our 'songs' and there are times when those songs may be saddened or quiet and then we could certainly send that special a friend a card like this to say Thank You....Here are the details of the other sentiments and closer look at the borders of this set:

JustRite Stampers A Song in My Heart

I stamped my sentiment on beautiful textured paper from WorldWin.  It has a slight shimmer to it and is perfect for elegant occasions.  That intricate oval is Spellbinders Lacey Oval and that is layered on Spellbinders Labels Eighteen.  I reached for my favorite flavor of the month paper lines My Mind's Eye and The Girls Paperie for those beautiful soft shabby chic patterned papers.  Michaels has a gorgeous line of product out called Recollections, that is where I found that exquisite bird in a bubble!  Of course a girlfriend card would not be complete without whimsical butterflies which are die cuts from Spellbinders Butterfly Two.

There are other designers from the JustRite team that are showing off their samples today and they are gorgeous.  Hop on over to the JustRite Inspirational Blog to see what they have created.  I have a fun day planned today including a surprise which I hope to share soon and a little get together with friends!  I hope your weekend is a good one - try and get in some crafty time will ya ;)

Layers of Color Cake Decorating Party Hop

Welcome to the

Layers of Color

Cake Decorating Party!

For this special event Layers of Color has created a delicious blog hop showcasing Layers of Color products on cakes, cards or anything fun to help celebrate all February Birthdays.  This is also the month that Laura Campbell (the owner and creative genius behind LOC) welcomed her first grandchild into the world.  Congratulations Laura and family!

{Ingredients}

In honor of Laura's special news I decided to make a card and cake slice to welcome & celebrate Baby Landon's birth.   I chose to make my own patterned paper by using Layers of Color Botanical Swirls Art Stencil.  To achieve the look simply ink through the stencil with shades of blue ink onto white cardstock.  I used part of the stenciled design for the front of my card.  For the cake slice I printed out a template from Mirkwood Designs and stenciled the pattern on the template before cutting, scoring and folding.

The beautiful frame is one of Layers of Color's collection of stamps that were specifically designed to coordinate with Spellbinders die templates.  The Victorian Frame cling art stamp pairs snugly with Spellbinders Labels Fourteen (which you can get for 15% off if you get an item from the Stamps for Spellbinders Collection).

{Party Favors}

Be sure to swing by Layers of Color Boutique and grab a FREE Cupcake Card Template! In celebration, they have added some SALE items and Special Bundle offers with fabulous pricing on Spellbinders Dies!

{Win}

when you subscribe to the Layers of Color blog and leave a comment, you will be entered into their Party Favor Drawing to have the chance to WIN this yummy Layers of Color art stamp set!...

JustRite's My Rainbow

Wow it seems I am going thru my pastel stage does it not!  Ha :) I think Spring might just be at the back of mind. We are experiencing unusually warm temperatures here in Denver including a day that was almost 70' last week - yikes!!!.  Hubs and I did some spring cleaning over the weekend and my little one was in flip-flops yesterday - the signs are clearly there..Spring is certainly not too far away - yay!

This Spring inspired card was created with the brand new release from JustRite stampers called My Rainbow Borders and Centers.  This oval set comes with 4 designer centers and 4 interchangeable designer borders.  I love the different sayings and these can be applied to so may occasions - I was just thinking yesterday how both my kids just say the sweetest things. They are 'My Double Rainbows' on sunny days too!  To see more inspirational projects visits JustRite's Blog.

You know how sometimes a card will literally fall into place before you have even started! Well this is kinda how this one evolved.  The color palette originated from Cath's newest Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger.  This is most certainly one of my FAVORITE color combo's - I LOVE shabby Chic yet it always seems my versions are 'simpler shabby' - is there even such a thing - mmmmm!  In any event I was inspired by the whites and blues and the hints of reds, yellows and greens.  To achieve this look I turned to 2 paper companies:  The Girls Paperie for my Shabby Rainbow and brand spanking new (like CHA new) Jillibean Soup for those gorgeous clouds!  I stamped JustRite's My Rainbow sentiment onto Spellbinders Label Twenty.

Today is Presidents Day so the girls and I plan on doing something fun.  The weather is certainly warm enough for us to spend some time outside *wink*.  Don't forget to tune in tomorrow for the Layers of Color Blog hop - it is going to be deliciously good!

JustRite's The Greatest Joy

When Cath offered up a challenge to use markers at Moxie Fab World I decided to put my Copic's to use to create this card with mega layers and dimension.  The beautiful roses stamp is JustRite's The Greatest Joy Borders and Centers stamp.  To achieve the dimensional look I stamped my rose image three times.  I colored the first image with my copic markers.   On the second image I colored only the roses and the ribbon being careful to shade a lot of contrast and then carefully cut out each shape.  Finally on the third image I colored just two of the petals on each rose with a lighter shade of pink and cut them out.  After adhering the main image to the card base I adhered each rose layer with small adhesive foam dots.

That gorgeous intricate frame is also JustRite. It is one of ten stamps from the Fancy Labels cling set.  These stamps were designed to perfectly compliment Spellbinders Labels Eighteen.  I cut out the oval center to and also adhered the frame to the card with foam dots.  The beautiful paper is from two of my favorite manufacturers - The Girls' Paperie and BoBunny.

Next week is going to be fun and busy.  I have new JustRite reveals to show you and a fab blog hop with Layers of Color.  See you then.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

JustRite is Moxie Fab this Valentines Day :)

Not much spells out decadence more than chocolate.  I love the rich brown tones and the flavors of chocolate so of course I was totally inspired by this week's Tuesday Trigger from Cath at Moxie Fab World.   These chocolate truffles looked good enough to eat right off my screen.  I was inspired to create a card for Valentines Day using the chocolaty colors depicted and some pink hues - totally love that color combo!

Now I am sure you are curious about these stamps...well they are JustRite's latest cling stamps and they coordinate beautifully with Spellbinders die templates - Yay!  I layered a stamp from the Friendship Blooms Cling Set on top of a stamp from the Kindness Cling Set.  The sentiment is from the Kindness Set too.  To give my card a bit of luxurious dimension I picked up a few colors from my T/Trigger and colored my stamped images with my Copic markers.  The Kindness stamp was designed to specifically coordinate with Spellbinders Labels Twenty die template - is it not just fabby how perfect the stamp and cut is - I love how that works out!  The beautiful paper is Graphic 45.  I hand cut the flowers and used foam adhesives squares to give them a bit of dimension.

I hope you are all having a fabulous Valentines Day.  It is our wedding Anniversary today so the girls and I are going to spend some time in the kitchen preparing a special dinner for Hubs :)

Guest Designer for The Play Date Cafe

Whoot-whoot!  I am super excited to announce that this is my week to kick-off the latest challenge at the Playdate Cafe as their Guest Designer.  This week's challenge is a fabulous color challenge and let me tell ya I was giddy when I saw the collection of colors.  I LOVE this combination of soft pastels and neutrals.  I decided on juje'ng up this little kraft box to make a quaint treasure keepsake container to safely store little gems, jewels and other valuables salvaged by my girls (mostly off the floor around my craft table).

Here is is your inspiration palette should you choose to play along...

Julie has all sorts of fun stuff going on at the Play Date Cafe including a bunch of super talented designers giving their interpretations of the color challenge and if you play along you may just be the lucky winner of the prize this week.  Now that is cool.  It is super easy to play along too - simply follow the COLOR COMBINATION as closely as possible making those colors the FOCUS of your creation. You can make anything you like: cards, layouts, 3-D, home decor...pretty much anything - link up your project on their blog and then follow along as you see what others have created :)

On my little keepsake box I used so many of my favorite products including: Spellbinders Labels Eighteen and Ribbon Banners.  That paper (which I use a lot of too) is from The Girls Paperie (drool) and the cherub is K&Company.   I LOVE this little journaling vial from Making Memories because you can actually remove the cork and hide a real message in there for someone special - how cool is that!  The flower is Prima and that beautiful stamp is Unity.  Oh and those gorgeous trinket pins are brand new from Maya Road *nice*

I would love to see your interpretation of this color challenge so if you do choose to play along leave me a comment and a link to your blog so that I can stop by and leave some love.  Have fun & thanks for joining me & The Play Date Cafe in this beautiful weekly challenge.

A Moxie Fab Valentine

Valentines Day is extra special for us because we officially tied the knot on this romantic day over a decade ago.  A romantic day, celebrating one of the most romantic occasions ever with friends and family.  Perfect!  It seemed everyone had romance on their minds as we danced, laughed and celebrated the evening away.  Feb 14 would be special for us regardless but now it seems almost the whole world gets together and expresses their love for each other on this day - our Anniversary! - kinda nice don't ya think :)

I always get two cards from Hubs on Valentines Day - one for the romance of the day and one for our anniversary.  Most of the time they are store bought and almost all of the time there is one that is funny and one that is super romantic.  He gets one card from me - and it's always handmade usually at the last minute.  However this year is different - he still gets one card but I made it a week early!!!!  - all because  of Cath's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger this week.  Love this TT for several reasons: It's Valentines Day themed,  it's Martha Stewart and it has all the elements on it that I love to put a card together (pink, scallops and satin)!

My new thing is felt.  Now I know it is not new for many of you but I am hooked on it and as you may have noticed when I get hooked on something I use it a lot!  Ha :) Soooo expect to see quite a bit of it in the near future.  I love that Spellbinders die templates cut felt so easily and this little heart was a breeze to create with a piece of cream felt and Spellbinders Classic Heart.  Other die templates on this card are Labels Fourteen and Classic Scalloped Borders Petites.  The paper is My Mind's Eye and the twine is American Crafts.

Okay folks I am settling down to watch the game.  I am rooting for Green Bay but secretly I watch for those clever commercials.  Have a great Sunday.  May the best team win!

a Celebration called CHA

 {Spellbinders}

I am back from CHA exhilarated from all the fun and excitement that I experienced during the past week.  The Spellbinders booth was amazing - filled to the brim with new releases and gorgeous artwork and allowed us the opportunity to meet wonderful friends - old and new!  We showed off the new Grand Dies, Nestabilities and of course the Grand Calibur and Presto Punch.  We laughed a lot, chatted and shared ideas with friends, fans,  loyal and new customers alike.  It was non stop fun that carried on well into the night!

These are just a few pictures of various booths that totally rocked my world and left me wanting more - a lot more....

Thank you Spellbinders, CHA and Los Angeles for being such a gracious host.  It was a wonderful experience that has me ready to start creating.  Watch this space for projects in the next few days!
