Packaging that says KaBoom!

Today's Momenta Blog Post project is all about pretty packaging heralding Spring!  

Sometimes gift giving just needs that extra oomph by jazzing up a container and scribbling thoughtful words of appreciation in a matching card - after all it is the thought that counts so why not make that thought say: "kaBoom!!!" 

Well I did just that with a container that I had here at home - which happened to fit 10 Homemade delicious cookies perfectly.  I used paper from Momenta which included these gorgeous bright pink flowers which I fussy cut to make them pop right up.  For a full list of supplies and how I put these babies together visit the Momenta Blog post:

I have yet another busy day planned today in my quest to get my house ready for summer.  I hope you manage to get a bit of crafty time in while you go about your business.  I am going to try but somehow I think I might just have to wait until tomorrow....

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge #166

Welcome to this special Tuesday, my final one as Guest Designer for Flourishes and also my final card for their wonderful Timeless Tuesday Challenge series!  This week is really fun and definitely a first for me.  The challenge is BINGO!  I have never participated in a Bingo card challenge and was quite excited to see so many options. Flourishes TTC 165: Favorite Flourishes Stamp

I am excited to participate in another Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge as one of their Guest Designers for the month of April.  This one was uber fun to put together because it involved making a card using scores and folds.  The challenge this week is to use our favorite Flourishes Stamp.   I love them all (seriously LOVE them all) so I chose Flourishes Medallion Motif because I have not used it in a while to make a card that is a little different!  

This was my first time making a Diamond Fold card and let me tell ya - this type of card is very impressive.  Make this and present it to someone and they are sure to ooooh and aaaah over your amazing creativity! - in reality super quick and easy!  Beate has a wonderful video demonstration on how to score and fold this card on Splitcoast Stampers - here is the link:

Princess Party Decorations

Win Prizes in JustRite's Friday Challenge

I am ending the week of JustRite Papercrafting new reveal stamps with a gift bag - you all know how much I Loove my gift bags :).  Every Friday JustRite presents a challenge to crafters and you can win prizes!!!  This week the challenge is to create a background using ANY JustRite stamp set.

I love Granny's Attic background stamp and wanted to recreate a vintage looking gift bag.  These techniques are a little out of my comfort zone but truth be told I reeeeallly enjoyed it.  I dabbled with a bit of paint, ink, distressing and to my surprise I actually enjoyed it :) I think these techniques may be featured again on this blog - watch this space *lol*

A few special techniques and products to be mentioned here is that the ribbon is from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and I colored my natural wood finish buttons with my Copic Markers to vintage them up a bit.  And I just realised *gasp* that for the first time in a reeeaaaallly long time there is no Spellbinders on this project :)    The craft gift bag and paint are from Michaels and the paper is from the Recollections collection.

Mother's Day Card #2 with JustRite PaperCrafts

This Mothers Day card features more of JustRite Papercrafts new stamp sets.  I love the lacey border stamps and of course I do believe you can never go wrong with a fun banner stamp :)  Here are the details on the two stamp sets I used:

Classic Lace Edges Two

Vintage Rose Medallion

I stamped my Classic Lace Edges Two border onto grey cardstock using a watermark ink.  After dusting a fine white embossing powder over the ink I heat embossed it to reveal the pretty intricate design.  I cut the scallop shape using Spellbinders Classic Edges One die templates.   I used Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Rectangles to make the shaped card and colored the banner stamp in with my Copic Markers.

The pretty paper is from Graphic 45 and the beautiful coordinated ribbon is from the Stamp Simply ribbon store.

Mothers Day Card with JustRite Paper Crafting

Today's card celebrates JustRite Paper Crafting's new releases  & Mother's Day.   I am so in love with these gorgeous background stamps (which I heat embossed onto my cardstock) and not to mention the oh so pretty rose & butterfly images.  I colored both with my Copic markers and fussy cut a few edges to give my images that little added dimension.  My card features a few of Justrite's new stamp collections including:

The shape of my card is Spellbinders Floral Ovals.  Here is a little design tip for you:  The cutting edges of this die template are very intricate so removing those thin little swirls may be a little tricky...To make removing the cut image a snap simply layer a piece of wax paper between the die template and the cardstock.  Voila!  A perfectly cut image that comes right out of those tight little corners :)
